Build a Game That Grows With You

Junior coaching is about giving young players the skills and confidence to enjoy tennis and keep improving. Whether they're relatively new to the game or already playing regularly, lessons are built around the individual player, with a focus on strong fundamentals, good movement, sound technique and learning how to actually play the game. Most importantly, I want juniors to enjoy being on the court and feel good about the progress they're making.

What to Expect

  • A Player-First Approach — We'll start by getting to know the player, their experience and what they enjoy about tennis, while assessing the areas of their game that will benefit most from coaching.
  • Clear, Age-Appropriate Instruction — Technical ideas are kept understandable and appropriate for the player's age and level, with an emphasis on one or two useful changes at a time.
  • Lots of Hitting — Juniors learn by doing. Expect plenty of repetition, rallying and drills designed to develop technique while keeping players active and engaged.
  • Skills That Progress With the Player — We'll work across groundstrokes, serve, return, volleys, footwork and movement, gradually introducing more advanced concepts as the player's game develops.
  • A Positive Coaching Environment — Mistakes are part of learning. The goal is to create an encouraging environment where juniors feel comfortable trying things, asking questions and challenging themselves.

Why Choose Dad Tennis Junior Coaching?

  • Strong Fundamentals — We'll build the technical foundations of the game from the beginning, including grips, preparation, spacing, contact, movement and proper stroke mechanics.
  • Individual Attention — Every junior develops differently. Coaching is adapted to the player's age, ability, personality and goals rather than forcing everyone through the same program.
  • Learn to Play, Not Just Hit — Technique matters, but so does understanding the game. As players develop, we'll work on rallying, court positioning, shot selection and learning how to construct and play points.
  • Confidence Through Progress — Improvement builds confidence. Lessons are designed to challenge players while giving them achievable goals and helping them recognize how much their game is developing.
  • Keep Tennis Fun — Junior tennis should be something kids look forward to. I want players working hard and learning, but also laughing, competing and genuinely enjoying their time on court.
